Democracy Now broadcast a special on Martin Luther King Jr. today along with excerpts from a few of his lesser known speeches. The first speech “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence” is just as pertinent today as it was 40 years ago… you could just about substitute the word Veitnam with Iraq or Afghanistan and it would be pretty spot on. The Beyond Vietnam speech starts at 2:30. The full episode (with transcripts) can be viewed at Democracy Now.
