Survival is a bitch. The Road is way at the top of my list this year. Written by Cormac McCarthy (No Country For Old Men), Directed by John Hillcoat (The Proposition, my favorite film from last year and my favorite western of all time), with a soundtrack by Nick Cave. I never read The Road, but I hear it’s quite a vicious piece of work… and with Hillcoat directing, it’s sure to be a seriously stomach churning affair on film. Seriously, go watch The Proposition and tell me you’re not excited for this one.
